Indonesian Green Beans

INGREDIENTS

1 lb green beans, snapped in half
1 package shimeji mushrooms (white beech, or similar), halved or uncut
3 large shallots
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup chicken stock
¼ cup rice wine
~2 tbsp soy sauce
1+ tbsp chili garlic sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp sesame + vegetable oil OR chili-garlic oil

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat oil in wok on high

  • Add mushroom and shallots and stir fry till crispy and mushrooms have good color

  • Add minced garlic, green beans, and soy sauce. Stir for ~3 min.

  • Add rice wine, vinegar, and chili garlic sauce. Stir until there is no liquid left in wok.

  • Add chicken stock and boil, stirring occasionally until fully reduced.

  • Serve with jasmine rice.
