Yaki Onigiri + πŸ“

INGREDIENTS

1 chicken breast, finely sliced πŸ“
½” ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced πŸ§„
4 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 green onion, thinly sliced

4 cups short grain rice, cooked 🍚
1 tbsp mirin

sesame-vegetable oil mix
soy sauce (sweet or regular)

DIRECTIONS

  • Marinate chicken for 4 hours in all but green onion

  • Remove from marinade and sear on high heat

  • Reintroduce marinade to pan, add green onion, and boil down to coat chicken

  • Sprinkle cooked rice with mirin and fluff to combine

  • Oil hands, grab rice, put 1 tbsp chicken filling in the middle, and form triangle around it (instructions here)

  • Heat sesame-vegetable oil on medium high

  • Brush both sides of triangle with soy sauce and pan fry till crispy and golden
