Coffee Toffee Bars
INGREDIENTS
1 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups flour (add more for stiff dough)
1 package instant coffee powder (or 1 tbsp)
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 🍫
½ cup blanched almonds, chopped
ALMOND GLAZE INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp butter, softened 🧈
¾ cup powdered sugar
dash of almond extract
1+ tbsp milk (to reach consistency) 🥛
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350º
Cream butter and brown sugar in large bowl
Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl and combine with wet
Note: Dough should be stiff. If too runny, add flour.Stir in chocolate chips and almonds
Press into large, greased pan (preferably 15x10”)
Bake 20–25 minutes, or until fully cooked
Add almond glaze while warm and allow to cool
Slice into bars.
